Port Vale Football Club can confirm that supporters who had tickets for our abandoned fixture against Reading will receive a full refund.
The club has had open and positive conversations with our Supporters Club and representatives from Reading to ensure we had the best outcome for Port Vale supporters who were affected by the abandonment.
Refunds will begin to be processed over the next week and will be completed by Wednesday 31st January see below for further details.
Port Vale CEO, Matt Hancock said:
“I’m pleased that through positive conversations starting with Carol, the supporters club and various staff at Reading we have been able to reach this outcome for our supporters who travelled to Berkshire on 13th January.
“I’d like to thank Reading who have worked with us throughout the process which has meant that we can start to get the refunds processed as soon as possible.”
Chair of the Port Vale Supporters Club Mark Porter said:
“The Supporters Club have been in regular contact with the club this week, in every attempt to help get those supporters who went to Reading to get their ticket money refunded.
“This shows what can happen when unilaterally working closely with the club to make these things happen.
“On behalf of the supporters club, I’d like to thank Matt and the team who have also worked tirelessly to get the travelling supporters their ticket money refunded”
Supporters who purchased their tickets online will have their refund processed automatically, this will happen between Monday 22nd and Wednesday 31st January.
Supporters who purchased their tickets in person will need to come to the club store from Monday 22nd January 2024 with the ticket and bank statement/proof of purchase, the refund will be processed immediately.
We are aware that 38 supporters purchased tickets on the day, to receive your refund you will need to bring your proof of purchase (ticket) to the club store from Monday 22nd January 2024 and your refund will be processed immediately.
The match will be replayed on Tuesday 20th February with tickets for the new date going on sale two weeks prior to the fixture. Supporters wishing to attend the new date, will have to purchase a new ticket.
