Fixture: Port Vale vs Stevenage

Port Vale

Manager: Darrell Clarke

Form: LLWLD

Top Goal Scorer: Devante Rodney (10 Goals)

Darrell Clarke will take charge of his first Port Vale home fixture since taking the reins at the club, in a clash with Stevenage, who sit on level points with the Valiants.

Vale will not only be looking for a crucial three points to help climb the table, with a win able to see us climb as high as 15th but will also be keen to avenge the loss away at the Boro earlier this season and bag new boss Clarke his first win.

Darrell Clarke will still be without striker Tom Pope as he remains sidelined with injury, with David Fitzpatrick also expected to miss the clash. Other than that however, Clarke has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the clash.

“We’re not in a great position, there’s no papering over those cracks that’s for sure, so we’ve got to get some wins on the board, but we want to win every game and we will look to start that Tuesday night against Stevenage.”

Manager: Alex Revell

Top Goal Scorer: Elliott List (7 Goals)

After a difficult start to the season following on from last season’s relegation scare, Stevenage have turned their form around in the new year, climbing the table and head into the game unbeaten in their last two and having picked up seven points from their last possible twelve.

The Boro will be aiming to repeat their success from the reverse fixture in which they secured a 2-1 win, a game that acted as a starting catalyst for their change in fortunes and upturn in results, with Alex Revell's side no doubt hoping to climb above the Vale with three points and extend their recent form.

One to watch: Elliott List

The Boro forward, Elliott List, joined Stevenage in 2019, signing from League One side Gillingham, and has had an impressive season so far, netting seven times and helping his side climb away from the drop zone.

The 23 year-old forward began his youth career with Crystal Palace, before joining Gillingham in 2015, where List was loaned out to Braintree Town in 2015.

After a successful loan spell, he then went on to make 85 appearances for the Gills, scoring 7 goals, with a memorable one being when he scored the only goal in a 1–0 victory over Premier League Cardiff City in the FA Cup third round.

List then joined Stevenage in 2019 and in his debut season, played 21 times, scoring twice, before finding his form this campaign.

Talk:

Darrell Clarke: “It’s a chance to get three points, against a team that’s picked up seven of the last 12 [points], they’ve certainly picked up this side of this year, so a tough task but looking forward to starting my manager career at home.”

Elliott List: "We have to start sharper and get on the front foot instead of having to respond to going a goal down, if we start like that then we beat teams comfortably."
