Michael Brown On Sheffield United Return

14 October 2016

This weekend will see a return to Bramall Lane for several members of the coaching staff at Port Vale.

Manager Bruno Ribeiro, Assistant Manager Michael Brown and First Team Coach Andy Smith will all make their return to Sheffield United.

The three all donned the red and white shirt of The Blades during their playing days.

However, for Michael Brown, he spent four years of his career at Bramall Lane, becoming a fan favourite during his time and he is looking forward to his return.

He said: “Sheffield united is one of the first ones I look for when fixtures are out.

“I had a fantastic four years there and I met some great people and we had some great games.

“I remember a game against Nottingham Forest at home in a play-off game and we won 4-3, it was an amazing night.

“We had great cup runs, Sheffield derbies and it was a fantastic time and it’s a fantastic football club and I always look forward to going back.”

Despite all the memories, the first thing Brown will be looking for is to come away with three points.

The Assistant Manager insists it will be a difficult test for Vale and different from the one they experienced last week against MK Dons.

“First and foremost it will be a tough game, it will be a tough and difficult challenge and there will be a lot more vocal support from the crowd.

“The home fans are fantastic and I know them very well and I think we’ve got to be ready for a different style of game.

“Sheffield United will be more direct then MK Dons and will test us in different ways.”
