Port Vale manager Rob Page says a committee of senior players is behind his squad’s exceptional team spirit.
The Valiants head into the last ten games of the season ninth in the Sky Bet League One table and just three points off the play-offs.
The atmosphere in the dressing room has been positive throughout the campaign and Page believes that’s down to the system in place at the Club.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD ahead of this weekend’s game against Peterborough United, the boss said: “We set certain little targets for the players.
“We’ve got a committee as opposed to one captain and putting all the responsibility on him to drive it forward what we want to do.
“We get a committee together and then there’s three or four bodies that are saying the same things as what the staff are saying and it has an impact on the changing room.
“They manage themselves within that changing room so it’s certainly worked for us so far this season but there’s a big challenge up ahead.
“We’re going to need that committee, we’re going to need all the players, to show what they’ve done all season which is character, never say die attitude and that’ll give us a good chance between now and the end of the season.”
