Matty Kennedy was delighted to top off his loan extension at Port Vale with a win over Southend United on Friday night.
The 21-year-old had put pen to paper on a deal, subject to Football League approval, earlier in the evening before playing the full 90 minutes against the Shrimpers.
Ajay Leitch-Smith and Michael O’Connor both scored as the Valiants secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Phil Brown’s side.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD, Kennedy said: “First of all I’ve spoken to Cardiff and the gaffer here and we both agreed I wanted to sign the extension.
“I think Cardiff wanted to wait for a callback, I’m not sure if that’s in it or not, but I think they wanted that.
“But hopefully I can keep playing, stay here a long as I can and obviously the victory has just topped it all off.”
