Opposition Analysis Needs Hard Work and a Hard Drive

Opposition Analysis Needs Hard Work and a Hard Drive

Dan Thompson, Vale’s Head of Performance Analysis, in his work with the 1st team is responsible for filming, live coding, creating stats and looking at opponents in order to improve the analysis structure within the club. This helps in the development of new ideas and easier concepts for players and coaches to relate to. An example is Chris Neal’sexemplary record at stopping penalties as Chris claims it is because of the hard work of Dan, who analyses each opposition penalty taker in the lead-up to every game. All this data needs to be stored somewhere and to ensure is not lost in the event of a computer problem Dan asked thePort Vale Volunteers Group (PVVG) if they could help with the cost of an external hard drive. Here is Lindon Roberts, one of the Volunteers Committee, handing over the hard drive to Dan.

On another note, the Volunteers have embarked on yet another fund raiser and are already selling tickets for their Christmas Draw. Please look out for a seller and help out by making a purchase.
