Turning GCSE’s into Goals

With three fixtures to go our current Vale in the Community Futsal team have shown their desire to be winners in their most recent fixture at the Birmingham International Arena.

The Vale team put on a powerful display in dispatching Peterborough United by 11-1 and now have three remaining fixtures against Crewe Alex, MK Dons and Shrewsbury to determine their destiny as champions or also-rans.

The Vale team has been top of the table for much of the season and reached the Soccer AM Futsal Cup last 16 before conceding defeat to a highly tuned Swindon Town.

Vale in the Community management has been negotiating with potential education partners for their new BTEC Level 3 Extended Sports Diploma in performance and excellence beginning in September.

VITC will issue a statement in the near future regarding the outcome of these discussions and are now recruiting potential candidates to fill 30 available places in the new academic year.

Students will have the opportunity to turn their GCSE’s into goals as they study for their Diploma in Sport whilst gaining vocational qualifications to become a qualified referee, football coach and attend trials for the full England Futsal team.

Combining this with regular coaching sessions to increase their levels of fitness and to further develop their technical skills added to a full programme of Futsal fixtures offers students a winning combination.

The Futsal and Education programme offers students a pathway to University and potential employment within the Sports and Leisure Industry.
