Port Vale to host Walsall

Vale draw Walsall in Capital One Cup

Port Vale will host League One side Walsall in the first-round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie will take place during the week commencing August 5, days after the start of the Valiants League One campaign.

Walsall finished ninth in League One last season.

The two sides met in the Johnstone Paint Trophy last season with the game finishing 2-2. Extra-time could not separate the sides and goalkeeper Sam Johnson was the hero as his saves and decisive last penalty saw Vale progress.
