We are proud to confirm that Port Vale have been awarded Silver Status as part of the EFL's Equality Code of Practice scheme, a multi-tiered accreditation framework designed to embed equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across all 72 EFL clubs.
The silver award ‘demonstrates strong, advancing progress in club-wide inclusion.’ Clubs are assessed every other season, with a development year in between to support learning and improvement.
The EFL Equality Code of Practice helps clubs achieve the goal of reflecting the communities they represent on and off the pitch and supports us to understand their local communities better and to tackle areas where certain groups may be under‑represented.
Port Vale Head of Foundation, Naomi Parton, said: “We are so proud to have achieved the Silver Award for EDI from the EFL. This recognition reflects the incredible commitment of our staff, participants, partners and communities in helping us create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels valued.
"While reaching Silver is a significant achievement, we know there is always more to do in this space. We remain committed to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion here at Vale, and ensuring that we continue to make a positive, meaningful impact.
"This award is such an important milestone on our journey, and I’m excited to see us build on this success as we work towards achieving Gold in the next assessment season.”
Port Vale Football Club and Port Vale FC Foundation are committed to jointly creating and maintaining a culture and environment that is welcoming to everyone, as outlined in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.
