Sam Foley Talks Away Form

Vale continue action in their Sky Bet League One campaign this weekend, as they look to pick up their first three points away from home.

Bruno Ribeiro’s side have drawn one and lost two on the road so far and will be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Bury against the Posh.

Midfielder, Sam Foley believes that if they can get a win away at London Road, It may help them mentally going forward.

He said: “Our away form hasn’t been great this season and maybe mentally we’ve been stronger at home.

“Ever since I’ve been t this football club we’ve been really strong at home, so if we can try pick up a few results away from home, I think mentally it will have a massive effect on the team.”

Sam has been a consistent member of the midfield this season, playing in every game apart from the Checkatrade Trophy game.

However, injuries in the midfield to Anthony Grant, Paulo Tavares and Anthony de Freitas has seen a lot of changes already, something Foley believes hasn’t helped.

“It’s difficult when players are coming in and out when the team is settled for three weeks like it had been and I thought we looked a very good side.

“Then you lose a couple and a couple come in and nothing against them but it’s difficult to come in and play and especially when some lads have never played at this level or in this country.

“All you can ask for is commitment and attitude and everyone is throughout the whole squad and hopefully everyone can stay fit and keep fighting.”
