We take a look back at the most recent clash with Carlisle.
Port Vale 1-0 Carlisle UnitedAt Vale Park
Tuesday 1st September 2015
EFL Trophy
Attendance: 2,571
Uche Ikpeazu's goal midway through the second half was enough to see off Carlisle United at Vale Park and ensure the Valiants progressed to the next round of the EFL Trophy.
The goal was Uche's third of the season after some great build-up play between himself and striker partner Louis Dodds after 60 minutes was the only goal of the game.
United almost drew level just eight minutes later, when top scorer Jabo Ibehre saw his shot superbly cleared off the line by defender Ben Purkiss, to ensure the Vale would go through to the next round.
