Vale to offer discounted tickets for Reading clash

VP general

We're pleased to confirm that adult tickets in all areas of Vale Park will be priced at just £10 when we host Reading in February, with children going free-of-charge.

As a thank you to Royals supporters after many raised funds towards the John Rudge statue - which was unveiled back in October - the club has moved quickly to confirm the offer ahead of the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

The initiative was first raised as a suggestion during our most recent Supporter Advisory Board (SAB) meeting.

Speaking about the news, Chief Executive Matt Hancock said: "We're really pleased to be able to confirm this ticket offer in plenty of time, ahead of the start of our League One season.

"We know February fixtures can often be cold to say the least, and that money can be tight after Christmas, so this is a positive initiative for Vale supporters and also a nice nod to the Reading fans who we have a good relationship with.

"It's also a great example of the collaborative work we're doing with the SAB, which I know will go from strength to strength over the course of the next 12 months."

Mark Porter, a member of our SAB as a representative of the Vale Supporters Club, added: “I’m absolutely delighted that Port Vale have taken up our suggestion to offer this ticket deal for the Reading game at Vale Park. This is not only a thank you to our amazing fans for their continued backing - especially around the John Rudge statue campaign - but also a show of appreciation and solidarity with Reading supporters and their new era under their new ownership.

"We haven’t forgotten the way Reading fans conducted themselves with real class when our original fixture was abandoned and they donated money towards the statue. Since then, both clubs have experienced big changes off the pitch.

"We value the friendship that’s grown between our two clubs, and we truly hope it continues to develop. This fixture is a great opportunity to bring fans together in the spirit of mutual respect and support.”
