We are delighted to confirm that Onel Hernández has joined the club on a permanent basis, initially until the end of the season.
The 33-year-old Cuban international winger – who has 26 Premier League appearances to his name – becomes the seventh addition of Jon Brady’s tenure, having recently left Sky Bet Championship side Charlton Athletic.
Hernández previously made more than 200 appearances for Norwich City, also spending time on loan with Middlesbrough and Birmingham City.
He will link up with his new team-mates at Vale Park this week, ahead of tomorrow's Vertu Trophy Quarter-Final against Stockport County.
Speaking about the signing, Brady said: “It’s fantastic to have Onel on board – he's another player whose experience and quality speaks for itself, and I know he can’t wait to get started here.
“He’ll add another dimension to the team and we’re looking forward to working with him.”
We would like to extend a warm welcome to Onel and his family.
