The Valiants made the short journey to the Fitzjohn Stadium to take on Kidgsrove Athletic in their second pre-season friendly in as many days.
A hat-trick from Lorent Tolaj and goals from Trialist B, Jack Shorrock, Ruari Paton and Jordan Gabriel capped off a comprehensive victory for Darren Moore's side.
Vale started brightly and threatened first as Ronan Curtis cut inside from the left eight minutes in, but his curling effort was comfortable for the Kidsgrove keeper.
The deadlock was broken 24 minutes in when Mitch Clark broke away down the Vale right and found Trialist B with a low cross, who made no mistake from close range, confidently placing the ball into the back of the net.
Just two minutes later, Liam Gordon came close to doubling the Vale's lead after some lovely build-up play. The attacking full back moved in on goal, but his effort was well-blocked and cleared by the Kidsgrove defence.
With 65 minutes on the clock, a well-worked Vale move found Rico Richards inside the Kidsgrove area, who was then brought down by the Kidsgrove defender and the referee awarded Vale a penalty. Tolaj confidently stepped up and placed his spotkick into the goalkeeper's bottom right-hand corner.
The Vale forward didn't have to wait much longer for his second of the evening when a beautiful ball over the top of the hosts' defence from Byers found Tolaj, who outmuscled his man and expertly slammed home with a left-footed strike into the keeper's bottom left-hand corner.
Vale added their fourth just two minutes later when Jack Shorrock whipped the ball straight over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net, direct from a corner, much to everybody's surprise.
Kidsgrove introduced a number of trialists and youngsters to the pitch and Vale's dominance had begun to tell when Headley raced away down the left and squared the ball to Tolaj, who saw his first shot well-saved by Harrison, but there was nothing he could do as the forward reacted first to slam the rebound into the roof of the net to secure his hat-trick.
Intense pressure from Vale was rewarded again as Paton picked the ball up on the edge of the area before turning onto his stronger right foot and finding the bottom corner with his effort for Vale's sixth goal of the afternoon.
Darren Moore's League One side wrapped up the afternoon in style with another goal as new signing, Jordan Gabriel, cut inside from the right and fired home from the edge of the area with his left foot.
