We are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Marko Maroši, who becomes our sixth new addition of the summer.
The 31-year-old joins the Valiants on a two-year deal following the expiration of his contract at Cambridge United, where he spent the second half of last season.
Maroši was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year in 2019/20 after winning the division with Coventry City, and would go on to make 20 appearances in the Championship during the following campaign.
More recently, he spent three seasons with Shrewsbury Town in League One, as a team-mate of fellow summer signing Jordan Shipley for the second time in his career.
Maroši will now link up Darren Moore and the squad ahead of this weekend’s pre-season friendlies.
First-team manager, Darren Moore, said: “Marko arrives at Vale Park with plenty of quality and experience, both at this level and above, so we’re delighted that he’s joining us.
“He has proven over a number of years that he is a really talented goalkeeper, and we feel he is another addition that will really strengthen us going into the new season. He will add huge competition in the goalkeeping department."
Everyone at the club would like to extend a warm welcome to Marko and his family.
