The Valiants are back on the road this weekend as we make the short trip up the M6 to Salford City’s AIG Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for the earlier time of 12:30pm.
Jon Brady’s side head to Greater Manchester in search of their first league win of the season with two draws and two losses on the board so far.
Vale will be backed once again by a packed-out away end with more than 1,200 Valiants making the journey north.

We have faced the Ammies on eleven occasions and are unbeaten in our last three clashes across all competitions. Overall, the Valiants have five wins, four losses and two draws against this weekend’s opponents.
Tipped as one of the early season favourites for promotion from League Two, Saturday’s hosts will be buoyed by their first win of Sky Bet League Two season at home to Newport County in midweek. Two goals in the final seven minutes from debutant Taylor Allen and Kelly N’Mai cancelled out Harrison Biggins’ second-half strike to claim all three points.
It was a summer of change both on and off the pitch for Salford with new manager, Peter Cklamovski, and fourteen new players coming through the doors at the AIG Stadium; including experienced names such as Macauley Langstaff, Luke Molyneux, Brendan Wiredu and Dan Scarr amongst others.
This is Cklamovski’s first job in English club football following a spell as Head Coach of Malaysia’s national team, where they rose from 133 to 116 in FIFA’s National Rankings under the Australian’s two-year tenure.
Ones to Watch
Salford City’s summer transfer business has captured the attention of the League Two football faithful with a number of noticeable names joining Peter Cklamovski’s side.
It’s difficult to look past the attacking threat of Macauley Langstaff and Luke Molyneux, with the duo having proven to have been effective at this level and above in recent campaigns.
During his last season in League Two, Langstaff would go on to bag twenty-eight goals and four assists across 46 appearances with former side Notts County before earning a move to Championship outfit Millwall in July 2024.
More recently, Molyneux was part of the 2024/25 League Two title-winning side with Doncaster Rovers. Throughout his four-year stay with the Yorkshire side, the winger accumulated 209 appearances, scoring 40 goals and grabbing 37 assists across all competitions before making the move to Salford.
Landmark Appearance
Should he be involved in this weekend’s matchday squad, Jaheim Headley could make his 50th appearance for the Valiants since joining from Huddersfield Town in January 2025.
Fixture Throwback
Salford City 0-1 Port Vale | 5th April 2022
One of the more memorable meetings between the two sides came in April 2022 when promotion-chasing Vale would run out as 1-0 winners thanks to Harry Charsley’s second-half strike, which sparked wild celebrations for what would prove to be a crucial three points for Darrell Clarke’s side.
Vale would go on to finish 5th in Sky Bet League Two that season, claiming promotion from the division via the Play-Offs at Wembley Stadium later that year.
