The minutes from the most recent Supporter Advisory Board (SAB) meeting on 21st May have now been published.
Club staff and members of the SAB came together for a positive and constructive meeting to review the group’s progress and discuss plans for its future development.
The meeting marked an important opportunity to reflect on the first two years of the SAB's work and build on the strong relationship that has developed between supporters and the club.
A key part of the meeting focused on the findings from the SAB’s latest effectiveness review. Feedback highlighted the positive and respectful relationship that has been established between the club and SAB members, alongside strong levels of openness and transparency throughout discussions.
Members agreed that the SAB has played an important role in strengthening supporter engagement and communication, with contributors feeling that their views are listened to and genuinely considered as part of the club's decision-making processes.
The review also identified opportunities for further development, including involving the SAB earlier in discussions where possible and continuing to ensure it reflects a broad cross-section of the supporter base.
The Board also discussed future membership arrangements and agreed on the importance of balancing continuity with the introduction of fresh perspectives.
As part of this, rolling two-year terms for SAB members will be reintroduced, helping to maintain stability while creating opportunities for new voices to become involved in future years.
The discussion also explored ways to strengthen representation across different supporter groups, including opportunities to further engage younger supporters and enhance youth representation within the SAB.
During the meeting, the club also provided updates on football operations, business performance, community and Foundation activity, and ongoing stadium and facilities developments.
The Club reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring supporters remain at the heart of engagement and decision-making activity, with the SAB continuing to play an important role in helping shape the supporter experience.
Mark Porter, Chair of the Supporters Club, said: “It was really encouraging to be part of such a positive and open SAB meeting in May. Having helped to set up the Supporter Advisory Board, it’s been fantastic to see how it has grown and developed over the past two years into something that genuinely reflects the voice of supporters.
We’ve built a strong relationship with the club, and there’s a real sense that supporter views are being heard and valued within decision-making. What stood out again was the honest and constructive nature of the discussions, and a shared commitment to keep improving.
As we move forward, we’re focused on widening that voice, bringing in fresh perspectives, and making sure fans continue to play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the club.”
The club will now continue work on its Supporter Engagement Plan ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, while exploring new ways to communicate SAB activity and outcomes with the wider supporter base.
As the SAB enters its next phase, both the club and its members remain committed to building on the positive foundations established over the past two years and ensuring supporters continue to have a meaningful voice in the future of the club.
