We were saddened to learn of the passing of former midfielder Terry Miles.
Born in 1937, Terry Miles was a stalwart of the Port Vale squad during the late 1950s and early 1960s. A composed and dependable presence in midfield, Miles made over 400 appearances for the Valiants after joining the club in 1958. He quickly earned a reputation for his tenacity, work ethic, and loyalty, becoming a firm favourite among supporters.
During his time at Vale Park, Miles was a key part of the team that gained promotion from the Fourth Division in the 1958/59 season, helping to lay the foundation for the club’s success in the following years.
After leaving the club, Miles continued to contribute to the game at a non-league level and remained a beloved figure among the Vale supporters.
Everyone at Port Vale Football Club sends condolences to Terry’s family and friends. His legacy and service to the club will always be remembered fondly.
