Port Vale Football Club are delighted to announce that Andy Crosby has named defender Nathan Smith as our new club captain.
Nathan graduated from the Port Vale Academy and signed his first pro-contract in 2014.
After making his first team debut in 2016, Smith has been a mainstay in the Valiants defence, showcasing his natural leadership abilities and commitment to the club on and off the pitch.
The 27-year-old has amassed more than 350 appearances in a Vale shirt and isn’t a stranger to the armband, having worn it on multiple occasions as vice-captain.
Funso Ojo will become the club's vice-captain.
Nathan and Funso will be supported by their team mates and staff members as we continue to progress our football club.
