Sky Bet League One Round Up

7 March 2016

Port Vale were 2-0 winners over Colchester United on Saturday. Here we take a look back at the weekend’s other Sky Bet League One results.

Table toppers Burton Albion were held to a draw by relegation-threatened Crewe Alexandra.

Marcus Haber gave The Alex a 14th minute lead before Lucas Akins equalised later in the first half to secure a point for the Brewers.

Walsall’s promotion hopes took a blow as they lost 3-1 at home to Barnsley. Ash Fletcher, Josh Brownhill and Harry Chapman scored the decisive goals for the visitors.

Manager Sean O’Driscoll was dismissed by the Saddlers following the loss.

Elsewhere, Rochdale produced a shock at the Ricoh Arena as they beat Coventry City 1-0.

Ian Henderson won an 89th minute penalty and kept his cool to slot past the Sky Blues’ keeper to earn the Dale three valuable points on the road.

Meanwhile, Che Adams scored a stoppage time penalty to earn Sheffield United a draw at Fleetwood Town.

The Blades had taken a first half lead but the Cod Army came from behind and goals from Ash Hunter and Marcus Nilsson put them in control.

But Adams made no mistake from the spot late on to ensure Nigel Adkins’ side went home with a share of the spoils.

Other results saw Bury draw with Bradford 0-0, Shrewsbury win away at Doncaster, Millwall thrash Blackpool 3-0, Scunthorpe and Gillingham play out a goalless draw, Chesterfield win at Southend and Wigan and Peterborough draw 1-1.
