Robbie Williams

Born and bred just a stone’s throw from Vale Park, Robbie Williams’ roots began right here in Burslem in 1974.

This place means a lot to the man who has gone on to break hundreds of records in his illustrious music career.

“I started going to the Vale when it was 50p for a junior supporter to get in. It takes a village to raise a child, and the Railway Paddock at Vale Park raised me,” tells you the impact the club has had on Robbie.

His parents, Jan and Pete, ran the Red Lion pub, a few minutes’ walk from where he watched football in his childhood. He has the coat of arms of Burslem tattooed, and he has been a life-long supporter of the Vale.

The numbers behind his music career are staggering; he has received a record 18 Brit Awards, seven UK No. 1 singles, he is a UK Music Hall of Fame inductee, and most recently surpassed The Beatles to become the artist with the most UK number one albums in chart history. The records speak for themselves.

Vale and Robbie have had strong association in recent times. He held a homecoming gig in 2022 at Vale Park, a sold-out charity concert which brought in 20,000 fans. In 2024, he became Club President alongside John Rudge, which accompanied a brand-new Robbie’s’ Bar at Vale Park.

In 2026, Robbie was announced as the first official Ambassador to Port Vale Foundation. Through this partnership, he will use his platform to help amplify the Foundation’s impact and ensure more support reaches those who need it most.
