Vale announce Development Squad

Seven join Morris, Boot and Price

Port Vale Football Club has announced the news that they will use a Development Squad next season with the aim that they will eventually graduate to the Port Vale first-team.


The Development Squad will be made up of 10 players including three first-year professionals who are already at the club.


Tom Morris, Doug Price and Ryan Boot signed professional contracts this summer and will be part of the Development squad alongside seven new young players who have all signed one-year contracts.


The new Development Squad players include Ben Jefford who has joined from Championship side Reading while Cheye Alexander joins from Premier League side West Ham United.


Wilson Carvalho joins from Stevenage after previously being part of the Nike Academy.


Louis Tambini, 18, joins from Championship side Leicester City.


19-year-old Dominic Dell and Gary O’Neil have both joined from Wolves.


Lastly Jordan Hugill has arrived from non-league side Marske United of Yorkshire.
