Vale Boss Looks Ahead To Yeovil Clash

Manager Rob Page has set his sights on two wins from his side's last two games of the season, starting against Yeovil Town this weekend.

The 40-year-old takes the Valiants to Huish Park for Saturday’s showdown knowing a win would secure their Sky Bet League One status for another season.

Although the Glovers have already been relegated, Page echoed Michael Brown’s view that Vale cannot be complacent heading into the clash with Paul Sturrock’s men.

Speaking to Valiant Player, he believes his players can use their displays against the likes of Preston North End and MK Dons to their advantage.

“I think after the confidence and positives we got from Friday’s performance, why can’t we use that as springboard to go again, like we did against Rochdale,” he said.

“We didn’t get our rewards that afternoon on Easter Monday, we got a kick in the teeth with a 95th minute defeat but then we didn’t sulk, we rolled our sleeves up and got on with it again.

“We were disappointed not to get the three points at Scunthorpe with a similar thing in the 95th minute but we didn’t let that dwell on us.

“We took that character into the Friday game, down to ten men to get a point against an excellent Preston team was commendable to the lads.

“Now we take that confidence again into Saturday’s game and give that level of performance and if we do I’m confident we will get the win.”
