Players & Coaches Attend Annual Carol Service

Local Schools Sing For First Team At Vale Park

Port Vale’s players and coaching staff attended the club’s annual carol service last week in Vale Park’s Valiant Suite.

Pupils from local schools St Nathaniel’s, Moor Park Primary and Jackfield Infants sang in front of the first team squad as well as members of the community on Thursday afternoon.

Manager Rob Page and players Michael Brown, Michael O’Connor and Carl Dickinson also got involved in pass the parcel, along with some of the children.

After the service, which was led by club chaplain John Hibberts, the pupils were given the opportunity to get autographs from their favourite Vale players in a signing session.

Talking about the afternoon, midfielder Michael Brown said: “It’s great to see all the kids here. I’ve just done my own children’s nativities and to see them all singing away, they really enjoy it.

“To meet the players, there are a lot of Port Vale fans, a lot of Stoke fans but still they enjoy their day and it’s nice to see the children looking forward to Christmas.”

Louis Dodds added: “It’s been nice, we do it every year and it really brings the community together. The young kids enjoy it, meeting all the players and I think the lads secretly enjoy singing.”
