Friday night sees Vale travel to Wales to face Newport County in Sky Bet League Two, the game marking the first league meeting for 30 years.
The last time the two sides met was actually a Sherpa Vans Trophy match in October 1987 where the Exiles came out on top.
In May of the same year, however, Vale ran riot during a Division Three clash, putting six goals past their Welsh counterparts.
Vale Park was treated to a very entertaining afternoon as the Valiants secured victory in style, the game ending 6-1 in favour of the home side.
Andy Jones scored five of Vale's goals, including two from the penalty spot. Phil Sproson also got on the scoresheet in front of 2,733 supporters.
