Ricky Miller became Neil Aspin's eighth summer signing as he looks to mould his own squad going into his first full season as Vale boss.
Speaking to the club for the first time, our new striker expressed his delight at being a Port Vale player: "I'm buzzing. It's been a busy day; I went and checked into my new flat earlier, and then came to the ground. I'm excited to be here."
Miller finally links up with Neil Aspin as he reveals that the gaffer has tried to sign him on numerous occasions before today: "The gaffer has been interested in me for a few years, but for one reason or another it just never happened.
"He made me feel really wanted and it was a no brainer for me."
The 29-year old is now relishing the chance of playing for the gaffer: "He is obviously a club legend and well respected by the fans. I just want to get in, work hard and hopefully perform."
Miller, who ended last season on loan to Mansfield Town from Peterborough United comes to Vale Park in high spirits as he looks to kickstart his Football League career: "I feel that if I have a good pre-season and get as fit as I can then I have a lot to offer.
"I am looking forward to coming in and helping the club and the team get to where they want to be."
