Michael Brown Reflects On Oxford Result

Port Vale will be looking ahead to the next game this upcoming weekend, following the disappointing defeat on Easter Monday.

Despite having the better of the chances and the play, Vale fell to the hands of Oxford United.

Following the final whistle, Michael Brown urged Vale supporters to stick with the team as they battle for survival.

He said: “We are also in the problem every single day, we understand what the fans are going through.

“This is where we are and we have looked at the situation and the reasons why we are in it. We just need the fans pushing behind us like they have done all season, for the final three games and I’m sure they will.”

With a home fixture against promotion chasing Bolton Wanderers next up for Vale, the manager is gearing up for what will be another challenge.

He added: “We need as many fans as possible there on Saturday getting behind us and let’s try and get those three points.

“We have got three massive games now and everyone will be doing their upmost to get them points.”

Despite results not falling for his side, Brown continued to encourage the players and he believes a bit more belief is needed.

“There are a few boys here that haven’t been in this situation before and you can see they are disappointed, but they have to realise it will drop if they make that extra run.

“I have explained to them that they have to have that belief, a bit more composure in the right areas and that is what we are missing.

“Bolton is a big game, they will be up for it so let’s make it a very vocal Vale Park and hopefully we can get a result.”
