Rob Page: ‘Performance Wasn’t Acceptable’

Port Vale boss Rob Page branded his side’s performance against Blackpool as unacceptable.

The Valiants were sent out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy as Jarrett Rivers and Clark Robertson scored either side of half time for the visitors.

Anthony Grant did score a penalty for Vale after Enoch Andoh was felled in the area but ultimately it counted for nothing.

Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD following the game, the manager was clearly frustrated with the performance he had witnessed.

“I’m really disappointed to be fair,” he commented. “We talk about all season being consistent with our performances and that was the polar opposite to Saturday.

“Our performance levels were individually and as a team were excellent on Saturday and we’ve gone to the opposite end of the spectrum where tonight wasn’t acceptable.”
