Page Pleased With How Vale Coped With Physicality & Quality

at Vale Park.ran-out 2-1 winners responded for the hosts, as the Trotters Sam FoleyGary Madine scored twice for the visitors, while

Byron Moore rocked the crossbar with a late penalty which, had it gone in, would have seen Vale continue their unbeaten pre-season.

Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD, Page said he was content with how his players managed the physicality and quality they were facing from Neil Lennon’s outfit.

“I thought we had the physicality of the Notts County game and the quality of the passing and movement of Getafe all mixed into one,” he said.

“I thought we coped with it in large spells of the game, they’ve taken on board what we’ve said about how we go about our defending.

“At times they’ve maybe took it too literally so we’re guilty of going by the letter so there’s always thing to work on when you play games like that against quality teams like that.

“We’ll have a look at it, the staff, and we’ll have a look at it tomorrow.”
