Striker Uche Ikpeazu has described signing for Port Vale as an opportunity he couldn’t turn down after numerous conversations with manager Rob Page.
The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal with the club on Monday afternoon, joining from Premier League side Watford.
A physical centre forward, Ikpeazu becomes Page’s sixth new signing of the summer transfer window.
The Vale boss has been in contact with the former Crewe Alexandra and Doncaster Rovers man for a few months regarding a potential switch.
Speaking exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD, Ikpeazu admitted that after speaking to the manager on several occasions he realised Vale Park was the perfect fit.
“I met him in Birmingham along with my agent after I left Doncaster and I spoke to him and I think it was very good,” he said.
“I met up with him because he told me the plans he wanted for me to work with him and he seems a really nice guy and I liked the contact me and him had.
“Obviously at the time I went back to Crewe but after speaking to him, I built up a good relationship with him and when I realised he was interested it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down.”
