Rob Page is looking forward to pitting his wits against former Stoke City boss Tony Pulis when Port Vale face West Brom.
The 40-year-old takes his side to the Hawthorns for the Capital One Cup second round tie on Tuesday evening, kick-off 8pm.
Pulis, who had two spells in charge at the Britannia Stadium, has been with the Baggies since January and guided the club to an impressive 13th place finish in the top flight last season.
Speaking to Valiant PlayerHD ahead of the clash, Page admitted he’s eager to test himself against someone he has ‘a lot of respect for’.
“I think as a player if you can’t get yourself up for games like this then there’s something wrong,” he said.
“To go to a Premier League club, the pitch is going to be tremendous, you’re going to be playing against quality opposition, a manager that I’ve got a lot of respect for, for what he’s done in his career.
“So to go and pit your wits against people like him and from the players’ point of view as well is one we’re looking forward to.”
