Rob Page Thinks Fans’ Support Could Be Vital Against Scunthorpe United

Vale Boss On Clash With The Iron

Port Vale interim manager Rob Page believes the backing of the club’s fans could be vital in his side’s pursuit of a win against Scunthorpe United.

The Valiants welcome the Iron to Vale Park on Tuesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm, in the first of two home games in the space of just four days.

Mark Robins, who was appointed as Scunthorpe manager last week, led his side to a 1-1 draw with Colchester United at Glanford Park on Saturday.

Speaking to Valiant Player, Page says his players are determined to begin climbing up the table with the help of the Vale supporters.

“I think you always look at your home games wanting to get points on the board and win the home games and pick what you can up on the road,” he commented.

“This is no different, obviously it’s a home game that we are playing a team that’s in and around us, albeit tough opposition.

“But I think the last two home games we’ve played, the Barnsley and Yeovil, we’ve shown what we’re capable of at home and the crowd have helped that as well.

“With the support of the fans again tomorrow we can hopefully recreate what we have in the last two home games.”
