Mark Grew says teams in League One hold no fear for Vale

Vale Assistant Manager Mark Grew believes Vale are not too far off getting things right and can start to pick up a few more points in the coming games.

He acknowledges the performance against Leyton Orient last weekend and says teams in League One hold no fear for the Valiants

He said: “There is confidence in the camp. We have played some good sides this season and haven’t really got turned over.

“We have conceded a number of goals, but they have all been stoppable, but we feel we have a got a squad of players here that is more than capable of competing in this league.

“You want to be playing the likes of Coventry, Wolves, Brentford and Preston, that’s what we got promoted for, but we are not scared of anyone.

“We went to the league leaders on Saturday, who have had an unbelievable start to the season, and they were the first to say they were lucky to get the three points.

“It won’t dampen our enthusiasm or our confidence, in fact we are going to show the lads the positives as well as the negatives because there were a lot of positives o come out of that game.

“We know the competition this season is going to be a lot more difficult than it was last season, but we have got a good squad of players here this season and we are confident going into Saturday’s game against Coventry.”
