Will Ryder to leave Vale's Academy set-up

Will Ryder

Port Vale Academy Director, Will Ryder, will be leaving the club at the end of this month to take on a new opportunity.

Will has been a valued member of the organisation for the past four-and-a-half years, during which time he has made a significant contribution to the development and growth of the club’s Academy provision.

Several players have progressed into the First Team during this period, notably including the likes of current first-team players Jack Shorrock, Rhys Walters, James Plant and previous players Tommy McDermott and Baylee Dipepa rising through the ranks breaking into the senior team, as well as Michael Mills and Freddie Lawrie who developed and moved onto exciting opportunities at Premier League clubs.

In addition, the Academy has achieved international recognition during this period, most notably through Dipepa’s international appearances while representing the club.

As he takes on a new opportunity, the club would like to acknowledge Will’s contribution and offer our thanks to him for his work during his time at Port Vale. We wish him every success in the next chapter of his career.
