Vale to host annual Remembrance commemorations at Stockport County fixture

PVFC Remembers

Port Vale will proudly pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community at our upcoming Sky Bet League One fixture against Stockport County on Monday 27th October (8pm kick-off, live on Sky Sports).

Ahead of the game, we will hold our annual Remembrance ceremony – led by Club Chaplain, Reverend Andrew Swift - to honour those who have served, and those who continue to serve, our country.

A bugler will perform a rendition of the Last Post, followed by a moment of reflection.

Representatives from our Port Vale Armed Forces group will also be invited to lay a wreath, alongside Carol Shanahan OBE, a Supporters Club representative and a Stockport County representative, paying collective respect on behalf of everyone connected to the club.

Supporters are kindly asked to arrive and take their seats in plenty of time to ensure that all in attendance can observe the commemorations and pay their respects together.

As part of the occasion, the Valiants will wear special poppy armbands during the match.

In addition to our Remembrance tributes, the fixture will also see the club mark the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign. Both teams will unite in support of the initiative, with players wearing dedicated warm-up shirts to show our commitment to equality, inclusion and respect throughout football.
