Port Vale Football Club can confirm that Lorent Tolaj has joined Plymouth Argyle for a significant undisclosed fee, after the striker’s release clause was met.
The Swiss forward has made 46 appearances for the Valiants since signing from Aldershot Town in June 2024, scoring 16 times.
Tolaj finished as Vale’s top goalscorer in 2024/25 as the club secured an immediate return to Sky Bet League One, and also received the Community Champion award at the club’s End-of-Season Awards.
The 23-year-old leaves with the best wishes of everyone at Port Vale and will always have a home here at Vale Park.
First-team Manager, Darren Moore, said: “Lorent has been a fantastic player for us over the last 12 months and I’m sure everyone connected with the club will join me in wishing him nothing but the best with his future career.
“Naturally, we’re all sad to see him go, but we’re extremely proud of how he’s developed here as a player and a person and didn’t want to stand in his way when he told us he wanted to explore this opportunity.
“While you never want to lose a player of Lorent’s quality, this represents a really positive deal for the football club, and one which will help us grow.”
