Match Officials

We take on Exeter City at Vale Park this weekend. The officials for the encounter have been confirmed and can be found below.

Leigh Doughty has been confirmed as the man in the middle with Andrew Ellis and Oliver Bickle named as his assistants. Aaron Jackson completes the officiating team as the fourth official.

Doughty started his refereeing journey in 2006, qualifying through the Blackpool Referees Association, and became an EFL referee in 2019.

He was appointed to the League Two Play-Off semi-final in 2020 and two weeks later was selected as fourth official for the League Two Play-Off final.

Ahead of the 2020/21 season, he was promoted to the Select Group 2, which means he primarily takes charge of Championship fixtures and features as a fourth official in the Premier League.

Across all competitions, the official has taken charge of a total 241 fixtures, handing out 919 yellow cards and 16 straight red cards.

This will be the 6th time he has had the whistle at a Vale game, with the most recent being a 1-0 win against Exeter City at Vale park during the 2020/21 season.
