It’s the final week to make your mark as part of history! The club’s 150th anniversary community photo-mosaic mural is closing for submissions on 31 October 2025.
Port Vale has teamed up with the celebrated artist Helen Marshall of The People’s Picture to create a large-scale photo-mosaic artwork at Vale Park.
The mosaic will feature four club legends chosen by supporters (John Rudge, Roy Sproson, Robbie Earle & Tom Pope) as the larger-scale image, made up of supporter submitted photos.
Every submitted photo tells a story of loyalty, family, memories of Vale, and the unique community of supporters that drives our club.
This is your chance to be a face in the story of Port Vale: whether past or present, whether you’ve been going since childhood or you just joined the Valley family, your photo becomes part of our legacy.
It’s not just an image. It’s about the story behind the photo: the memory of the first match, the generation who took you, the away day you’ll never forget, or cheering under the floodlights. The mural gives that story physical presence on the stadium front.
How to submit
- Choose a clear, focussed photo of one individual (group shots won’t register clearly in the mosaic).
- Upload your photo and share a short story about what Port Vale means to you.
- Submit before midnight on 31 October 2025.
Tips to make the best submission
- Use a decent-quality image: clear face, good lighting, minimal obstructions. It helps that your photo will be part of the mosaic and you want to stand out.
- Your story counts: aim for something personal and heartfelt, even if short. A sentence or two about your memory, your passion, your connection with Vale can add meaning.
- Act now: don’t wait until the last minute, in case you need to adjust your photo or your payment. The deadline isn’t far away!
- Share with friends & family: everyone can submit. Imagine how many faces from across the supporter base will come together in one artwork.
- Tell your story aloud: when you see the mural later, you’ll want to recognise your photo and feel proud of your contribution.
What happens after submissions close
- Helen Marshall and the team will begin building the mosaic, placing each submitted image into the design.
- The finished artwork will be installed at Vale Park and unveiled during the anniversary celebrations. It will stand as a lasting tribute to both the club’s heritage and its supporters.
