Dates confirmed for Port Vale Remembers fixture and 150th anniversary game

Anniversary game

We are proud to confirm dates for our annual ‘Port Vale Remembers’ fixture, and 150th anniversary match at Vale Park.

As in previous years, our Port Vale Remembers fixture will take place on New Year’s Day (1st January 2026), when we welcome Blackpool to Burslem. Before kick-off, we will fall silent to remember those connected to the club who sadly passed away in 2025.

Details on how to submit names to be included in our tribute will be communicated in December.

Three days later (4th January 2026), we will proudly celebrate 150 years of Port Vale Football Club when the Valiants take on Barnsley at Vale Park, with a bumper crowd – including special guests - expected to attend the fixture.

Fittingly, the Tykes have been our most common opponents since 1876, with the January clash set to be the 121st between the two teams.

There will be a range of exciting anniversary-related activity taking place throughout the day, with further details to be confirmed in due course.

Our partners at IronMarket Wealth are also signed up as Match Sponsors for the game, with Autonet Insurance confirmed as Match Ball Sponsors.

Port Vale Chief Executive, Matt Hancock, said: “We’re delighted to confirm two really important dates in this season’s calendar, which will help ensure we’re kicking off our official anniversary year in 2026 in the right way.

“Our Port Vale Remembers fixture is always a poignant day, and I think it’s fitting that we begin each year by remembering those who have helped make our club what it is today.

“We’re also well under way with plans for our dedicated 150th anniversary game, and are encouraging as many supporters as possible to come down to Vale Park for what will be a real celebration.”

Look out for further details soon on our official website and club app.
