Date confirmed for official Remembrance fixture

GIL

We are pleased to confirm that our Emirates FA Cup fixture against Scunthorpe United on Saturday 7th November will be recognised as the club’s official Remembrance fixture.

The fixture will provide an opportunity for supporters, players and staff to come together to remember and honour those who have served, and continue to serve, in the Armed Forces.

The Port Vale Armed Forces Community Group will once again play a key role in the occasion, helping the club pay its respects and ensuring the contribution and sacrifices of the Armed Forces community are recognised.

Sophie Barber, Chair of the Port Vale Armed Forces Community Group, said: "The Port Vale Armed Forces Community Group is about bringing the Armed Forces community together through both our shared background and interest in football and Port Vale.

"We want to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where serving personnel, veterans, reservists and their families can connect with others who understand that shared experience."

The group welcomes new members and anyone interested in getting involved in Remembrance activities at Port Vale. Whether you have a connection to the Armed Forces or simply want to support the club’s efforts to remember those who have served, you can find out more about joining by emailing forcescommunity.portvale@gmail.com.

As part of the build-up to the fixture, we will also be speaking to members of the group to share their stories, explain the importance of Remembrance and highlight the work they do within the Vale community.

Any further details about the club’s Remembrance activities on the day will be announced in due course.
