Visitors to Vale Park today will have seen the finishing touches being put on the community mural on the driveway into Car Park D.
We've been working with artist Helen Marshall (The People's Picture), who has produced a piece of artwork that prominently features four supporter-selected club legends - John Rudge, Roy Sproson, Robbie Earle and Tom Pope.
The entire mural is created using thousands of photos submitted by Vale supporters and will be available to view ahead of kick-off on Saturday.
We will be welcoming John Rudge, Tom Pope and members of the Sproson family to Vale Park on Tuesday for the Bradford City fixture to celebrate their inclusion in the finished piece.
We will also be launching a digital version where you can view the artwork in its entirety and read 26 selected stories from supporters detailing what Port Vale means to them.
We hope the mural will act as a lasting reminder to us all that behind the many players, coaches and legends that have graced the hallways and hallowed turf of Vale Park are you, our incredible supporters.
Your unwavering support through the ups and downs has shown the true meaning of being Valiant.
“That’s the wonder of you…”
