Response to supporter feedback (Crewe Alex)

Following our Carabao Cup second-round fixture against Crewe Alexandra, we received a number of complaints, comments and concerns from supporters either delivered over social media, face-to-face in open conversations or phone calls.

We also had an open and honest meeting with members of the Supporters Club who also fed back their concerns.

We have listened to the feedback and have made a number of changes to our matchday operations specifically around cup games, please find below key issues and solutions that came up through feedback.

Persistent standing at the rear and lower parts of all blocks of the Hamil Road Stand

We have opened the Railway Paddock and Railway Stand and will monitor this for future fixtures.

We would also like to remind supporters that Vale Park is an all-seater stadium and to be respectful to other supporters.

Those with accessibility needs struggle to access Tommy Cheadle’s

  • The main entrance to Tommy Cheadle’s is now an accessibility-only entrance
  • A break line will be in the Fan Zone for supporters with extra accessibility needs to avoid those supporters needing to go all the way around and inside the fan zone.

Ticketing/ Turnstiles

In addition to the update posted on 31st August [Click here to read] Changes have been made to our turnstile operation and more turnstile staff now work on a match day.

Unacceptable Fan Behaviour

The club met with five supporters whose behaviours in the Lorne Street and Hamil Road Stand led to several complaints from within home stands of abusive language and persistent standing during the Carabao Cup match against Crewe.

Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABA) have been signed with an acknowledgement from all parties that any involvement with any further incidents within 12 months will lead to a stadium ban.

The club wishes to remind all supporters that abuse of any nature will not be tolerated and to be considerate towards fellow supporters in the stands.

We are always looking for open dialogue with supporters to improve and enhance the matchday experience at Vale Park - Please email enquiries@Port-Vale.co.uk with all feedback.
