Match Officials: Salford City

The Valiants will travel to Moor Lane for the second time ever tomorrow as they take on Salford City in the third round of the Trophy. The match officials for the fixture have been confirmed and can be found below:

Christopher Sarginson has been confirmed as the official who will take charge of Port Vale's second fixture of 2020, against The Ammies. Sarginson officiated a total of 43 matches across all competitions last season, and 21 matches so far this campaign.

EFL Trophy: 5 (18/19) 4 (19/20)

FA Cup: 3 (18/19) 3 (19/20)

Sky Bet League One: 15 (18/19) 7 (19/20)

Carabao Cup: 1 (18/19) 1 (19/20)

Over the 40 matches he officiated last season, Sarginson handed out a total of 131 yellow cards and eight red cards. In his games refereed this season he has given out 55 yellow cards and one red card. Sarginson has not previously referred the Valiants this season, but oversaw a 1-1 draw that resulted in a 5-4 penalty shootout win against Shrewsbury Town at Vale Park in last year’s competition.  

His assistants will be Richard Wigglesworth and Ian Smedley, with Conor Brown taking on the role as fourth official.
