Neil Aspin has made his second signing of the transfer window as he brings in striking reinforcements from Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Club can confirm that Donovan Wilson has joined on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.

Wilson plays as a striker for Wolves’ under-23 team and will be a welcome addition to Neil Aspin’s Port Vale side.

Wilson initially began his career at Bristol Rovers where he signed his first professional contract at the age of 17, and went on to join Wolves the following December on loan.

His loan move was with a view to a permanent move, which was completed following the opening of the January transfer window in 2015.

Despite not making a senior appearance for the remainder of the 2014/15 and the entirety of the 2015/16 season, both parties agreed to extend his deal for another season.

The 2016/17 season saw Wilson make his first senior team appearance as he was included in the squad for a Football League Trophy fixture. Further, the 20-year old made his FA Cup debut in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

His first senior goal came in the League Cup in a 2-0 victory over Premier League opponents Southampton. Wilson scored in the final minutes to secure victory for the Championship side.
