Last Time We Met Lincoln City

Vale will be looking to bounce back from the defeat against Mansfield Town with three points as they travel to Lincoln City in Sky Bet League Two on Saturday.

The last time the two sides faced other cane back in March of 2011, and It was the Valiants who were on home soil as they came out on top in League Two.

It was the Imps who pulled themselves ahead at Vale Park as Gavin McCallum found the net early on, turning home a cross from Julian Kelly.

One goal separated the teams at half-time, but Vale came out firing in the second 45 minutes and Marc Richards headed home his 100th career goal to level proceedings.

With the game tightly poised, Doug Loft conjured up a piece of magic that earned the Valiants all three points.

His curling effort from 25 yards beat Elliott Parish in the Lincoln goal and the win moved Vale back into the play-off places.
