Brown - "We feel like we can do it and we know that it will be hard."

With the remaining eight fixtures of the 2016/17 Sky Bet League One campaign looming, Vale go into the final month of the season ravaged by injuries.

Michael Brown talks exclusively to Valiant PlayerHD about his squads injury concerns and whether there has been any improvement: “Not really, and we are looking at that and hopefully we can improve it in the next few weeks.”

Despite that, Brown is still putting on a brave front and expects that the team he has available will be able to the job at hand: “We have a group of players that are working very hard to try and get the results for the football club and I think that with the injuries, we still have enough to get the victories we need.

Whether it is next game or the one after. We have 8 games left, and on the eighth game we will find out if we have been good enough.”

The 40-year old and his squad are confident going into the final running of the season, and are ready for the fight ahead: “We feel like we can do it and we know that it will be hard. We understand that the odds have been stacked against us with what has been happening, and we are still continuing.

“Those are the cards that we have been dealt and we have to put the best team out that we can, and try and get them as best equipped as we can to win the next game.”

Brown knows that when AFC Wimbledon travel to Vale Park this weekend, they will be coming with a spring in their step and Vale will have to be at their best: “I went to the game with Ned on Tuesday night and we watched a team that are extremely hard working and have had some fantastic results, especially at home.

“Now that they have assured their safety with that result they will be in high spirits. They are very hard working and direct, so it will be an interesting game.”
