Last week, Port Vale moved back into the play-offs with a first away win of the season at Stadium:MK against MK Dons.
The Valiant’s secured all three points with an Alex Jones goal ten minutes before the half-time break.
It was a big win for Vale as they finally secured victory on the road, but Vale can still improve according to Assistant Manager Michael Brown.
He said: “We keep talking about the elusive away performance and we managed to get a solid team working performance and come away with three points last week.
“But, we could have pushed on further forward and created more chances and kept the ball better, so we still need to improve, but it’s till a great three points.”
The game also marked the quarter stage of the season and although it is to early to think to much into the table, Brown feels there is still improvement that needs to be done.
“We’ve done ok so far, we’re still learning and trying to improve the players we’ve because we’ve had such a big change around.
“We’re trying to get those players to keep learning and we still need to get some of them new boys in the side and get more in to the team.”
Last weekend, several players missed the game through injury and one of those men was Jerome Thomas and Brown gave an update on his fitness.
“He’s progressing well, he’s on the grass doing fitness work with a ball so hopefully he won’t be to far away.”
Also, Anthony de Freitas and Anton Forrester missed the game and there was news on their condition.
“Anthony de Freitas is back training with us now so he’s much closer and Anton Forrester is working each day.
“They’re both working hard and it was disappointing for Anton to get injured on his return so we will be slightly careful with him on his return.”
