This weekend, Vale play on the Sunday as they showcase their skill in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Valiants travel to Milton Keynes Dons looking to pick up that elusive first away win and bounce back from recent defeats at Vale Park.
Vale come into the weekend in sixth position, but playing the day after the rest of the league, they may fall out of the play-offs come kick-off.
A win will help cement that place in the top six and get them off to a good start when they come up against some big names in the league and striker Alex Jones is hoping for three points.
He said: “It’s going to be a big game, it’s a big month with some very good teams that we have to play, but if we pick up some points we will be right in the thick of it.
“I think it’s important to bounce back from any win let alone two in a week and with Sunday coming round we want to put in a performance and pick up three points.”
The man on loan from Birmingham City is currently playing on the right-hand side, a position he has to familiarise himself with.
But, Jones has taken to the position well and is currently the clubs top scorer with six goals so far, something he is delighted with.
“If you would have said to me I would have scored six goals and started eight games I would have bitten your hand off, its going well I’m enjoying it.
“I’m enjoying play out wide, I’m scoring so its going well, I’ll play anywhere as long as I’m scoring.
“I don’t think there’s any harm in playing out wide and it’s only good for me for my development to learn different ways of playing.”
