First Team Stars Help With Staffs Uni Workshops

Port Vale and Staffordshire University hosted a special day for 150 year five children last Thursday.

The project involved children from ten local primary schools attending workshops run by local companies Autonet, KMF, Dudson, Staffordshire Creamware and Synectics and by five university departments.

Five first team players took part in the final workshop of the day - JJ Hooper, Richard Duffy, Ryan McGivern, Ryan Inniss and Sam Kelly.

“This partnership gives children opportunities to interact with players, gives players opportunities to work with young people and aims to inform families about the value of higher education,” Chris Taylor, Port Vale’s Head of Education, said.

“It is heartening to see our players working very positively with local children and gaining experience of how important education can be in a future career.

“These children are the fans for the future and it’s important for them to see a stadium at work during the week.”
