Bruno speaks of his confidence in his Vale side ahead of the new season.
In the third pre-season fixture of the 2016/17 season, Port Vale fell to a 2-0 defeat to Championship side, Nottingham Forest.
Despite the defeat, the score doesn’t reflect the balance of play, as the Valiants can feel hard done by that they slipped to a loss.
The clash against Forest was the first of several visits from clubs higher in the football pyramid, with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City and a Manchester United Xl yet to come to Vale Park.
Manager, Bruno Ribeiro, is confident that playing against these types of opposition will only help improve his side for the upcoming season.
He said: “I’m very confident for the new season, I’m very happy with all players, maybe we bring in one or two more, but I’m very happy with them all and I’m confident that we will have a good season.
“I’m confident despite losing this game. If we wanted to win all our games in pre-season then I would choose to play against bad teams, but I want to play against good teams, Forest, Wolves, Birmingham, Man Utd and Sheffield Wednesday, and in these games we see our faults and how we can improve.
“We will go back and watch the videos from last night and see how we can make our team better and that’s what is more important to me in pre-season.”
